As
all know our general supplier for aquarium fish LiveAquaria.com and Drs.
Foster & Smith (same company) ended their online sales business, due to
state online sales tax issues. Thus links on fish for sale
no longer work as 02/22/10.
We are changing our tropical fish
suppliers now to "Aquarium-Club MEMBERS ONLY", so please stop back,
because we will have more tank raised fish shortly,
15 years of selling tropical fish online and
safely shipping fish and supplies to thousands of satisfied customers, without any
complaints!!!

Aphyosemion
bitittatum
Native Habitat:
Low coastal plain on either side of the Nigeria and Cameroon border. Found in
the lower tributaries of the Ndian River & also in some small coastal rivers,
some more brackish, but seem most abundant in shade pools rich in vegetation and
animal life.
Temperament: Peaceful, occupies the upper
strata of the aquarium and should be kept with peaceful fish that occupy the mid
and lower strata of the aquarium.
Feeding: Some flake foods high in protein and
adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as
grindal worms,
white worms,
Daphnia,
Moina, and newly
hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing:
Males have much more colorful fins. Females are horizontally striped and
resemble immature fish, but for size. Females are about 1.75 - 2.0 inches.
General Comment: Live about 4
years. Real
easy killifish to keep and breed. Most Bivittatum found in the aquarium
hobby are Fungé. Does very well with a lot of floating plants for cover
for fry and general health and behavior of fish. Occupies the upper strata
of the aquarium and will do well with other peaceful fish, certainly those like
some guppies and others which occupy the mid and lower strata generally.
